Camarillo Community Church began in 1961 as a small home prayer meeting of 16 people, originally named Camarillo Heights Baptist Church. After a 1970 wildfire destroyed its property and years of meeting in temporary spaces, the church settled on Las Posas Road, where volunteers built its first permanent building in the mid-1980s and a larger Worship Center in 2002. Under Pastor Ralph Rittenhouse's 32-year tenure (1983–2015), the church grew from under 100 to nearly 800 members and dropped "Heights" from its name to reflect a broader, welcoming identity.

Since Rittenhouse's retirement, the church has emphasized small "quad" discipleship groups, with David Hurtado serving as lead pastor from 2017 to 2026. Current leaders include Executive Pastor Kenny Kibble, Worship Pastor Kelley Reid, and Associate Pastor Jacob Salas. The church holds two Sunday services, runs active youth and outreach ministries, and recently renovated its campus to be more welcoming. Serving a community of about 71,000, CamCC is now focused on reaching young families and continuing its legacy of discipleship.
