The Equipping Church Team (ECT) is designing and implementing systems to instill a culture of ministry and methods to equip our members to fulfill their roles as functioning parts in the body of Christ. As Camarillo Community Church continues to grow, our pastor, Ralph Rittenhouse sees the need to take our church to the next level, and Daryl Lundberg, Pastor of Membership, Outreach, & Care has a passionate dream to grow our church by growing each member in Christ. We seek to reach out and:
- Plant seeds in the community.
- Grow people in the five Christian purposes.
- Pull the weeds and nurture those struggling with sin.
- Harvest by preparing, connecting, equipping, and supporting people who serve.
The PESO Place is focused on harvesting: PREPARING, CONNECTING, EQUIPPING and SUPPORTING.
"How easy it is to see an equipping ministry as an end in itself. Equipping ministry, however, should be part of a larger vision of discipleship and personal growth in the individual and within the church. The goal is not to place people in ministry slots. The goal is not even to make sure church programs are staffed. The ultimate goal is to serve God and to provide a place for people to grow spiritually through serving others and being served. The end result in an effective equipping church should be whole-life ministry for people, so that who they are in and through the church permeates who they are in the workplace, in their communities, and in their families." --Sue Mallory, The Equipping Church Guidebook.
