What
is Discovering Church Membership or CLASS 101?
The "Discovering
Church Membership" class is designed to inform those coming into
our church about who we are, what we believe and where we are going. Our
purpose is to help people believe in God, belong to His family and help
them become fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ. It is required that
you take this 3-hour class for membership.
Who leads
it?
Our pastor,
Ralph Rittenhouse
will lead and answer any of your questions about Camarillo Community Church.
When does
it take place?
The First
Sunday of every month, except July and December. It starts at 4:00 PM.
Dinner and childcare are provided from birth to 5th grade.
How do
I sign up?
We request
that all participants call the church office anytime at (805) 482-2657
and leave a message if it's after hours. You have three Sunday services
each month to register through the communication cards taken up each Sunday
in service. Or, send an email to jimmoyer@camarillocommuntiychurch.com.
State that you are making reservations for the 101 class and leave your
name, the number of adults and the number of children and their ages.
If you can come and it's the day of the class and you have not signed
up, that's ok, just show up. We'd love to have you.
How do
I become a new member?
We have
two requirements in becoming a member at Camarillo Community Church.
- Profession
of Faith This is for new Christians who have asked Jesus Christ
to be their personal Lord and Savior of their lives. You have professed
your faith in Christ and want to be baptized.
- Believers
Baptism
If you are a believer in Jesus Christ and a member of another denomination
but have never been baptized by immersion as an adult believer, then
we would ask you to be baptized as a believer. Believer's baptism is
a biblical model for baptism. We have baptism services regularly scheduled
times. If you have any questions about baptism, please contact Daryl
Lundberg or any other staff member.
How do
I start the membership process?
Membership
begins with Discovering Church Membership Class (CLASS 101).
- Discovering
Church Membership class is the beginning of the membership process.
- The membership
application is in the CLASS notebook handed out at the class.
- After
receipt of this application someone on staff will collect them and give
you a call of when the next welcoming of new members will be held.
The Discovering
Church Membership class is open to anyone wanting to know more about our
church, but is required as a part of membership here at CCC. We want our
members to be informed members. Our desire is to help you become active
in the church quickly, because the greater the time lapse determines the
effectiveness for your opportunity for involvement.
How do
I get involved with the church?
- Join
a small group.
These can be home groups formed within the church, but located in neighborhoods
OR groups formed by affinity (similar interests) or age that meet in
the church. This small group setting is where you can interact with
the teachers, start relationships, and grow in your relationship with
Jesus Christ. Just stop by any class. A full listing of all of our CCC
Small Groups is available at the Welcome Center.
- Get
involved in ministry. Christ has a purpose for adding each new member
to the Body of Christ, His Church. It is to glorify Him and build up
the church. There are many churchwide opportunities within the church,
along with mission trips being offered around the world, small group
mission projects and opportunities for involvement.
