This August we begin a study of how to hear God speak. It is about hearing God speak to you and me. We will be going through the book by Wayne Cordeiro, The Divine Mentor. It describes his search to hear from God and what he discovered. It is about the awesome gift that God gave us in his word, the Bible. My suggestion, pick up The Divine Mentor early and read it before August. Books are available for $14.00 in the CCC Resource Center Sunday morning or in the church office during the week. It is worth getting a head start on the reading.

Also, plan on getting back into your life group for this study. It will exponentially improve the grasp of the material, building the principles into your life and just be much more fun doing it all. If you have not been in a group in the past, this will be a perfect opportunity to meet new friends, learn what “doing life together” is all about and learn from the experiences of those in your group. Of course, if you have any questions please contact me at jimmoyer@camcc.net or (805) 482-2657 x118.

Why should
I join a small group?
- To
connect with people in Gods family, make real friends and build
up each other. Youll find your needs and problems are not
unique!
- To
receive and provide support for each other. We all have acquaintances but we need people who accept
us as we are; encourage us when were down; and love us no matter
what! Our small groups will provide you some security and stability
in this impersonal world. Youll feel genuine care and concern
from the persons around you.
- To
learn more about the Bible (Gods word), Christ (His Son) and His
instructions and promises. Since small groups are interactive, you
can explore, ask questions, discuss and hear others share their thoughts
and experiences.
- To
help you handle the stresses and pressures of everyday life. During
times of stress and change, we need the peace and assurance of Gods
love and the support of Christian friends.
- To
experience the power of prayer. Prayer really does change things! Experience Gods power in your
life through prayer.
- To
serve. Learn about the unique special gifts (talents, skills) God has
given each of us and how to use them in service to Him.

Whats
a small group?
A small group
is a gathering of people from our church and community who meet regularly
together in homes or at church. Most groups meet once a week. Groups
are usually from 4-12 people (optimal size is about 12 people).
What do
they do?
Activities
vary but generally some time is spent in fellowship, studying (the Bible
or common interest topics), discussion, sharing, and prayer. Some groups
also serve together supporting various activities at our church.
Why have
small groups?
They offer
small informal settings where newcomers, long-time members, and people
in our community can meet and build lasting relationships based on Gods
love.
When are
the small groups meeting? Where are they meeting? How do I join?
Call the
group leader for information on the study, and then go if you're interested!
What Can
I Expect?
Small groups
provide opportunities for you to fellowship, learn, support, serve and
grow spiritually together in a comfortable, relaxed environment.
